The Hungarian Ispita in Győr will soon open its doors again

The Rómer Flóris History and Art Museum will soon welcome the art-loving public to the Magyar Ispita's renewed monument building. The construction works of the historic building will be completed during the spring.
The extremely valuable historic building - in order to its location in the city center and its outstanding cultural function - has a modern facade surface that recalls its past appearance, the definition of which was preceded by detailed architectural historical research. The renovation of the facade of the two-square-factory on Rákóczi Street facades - the restoration of the statues of the Virgin Mary with little Jesus and St. Florian - the partial renovation of the roof and sewer drains, as well as the replacement of the windows.
The modernized mechanical, electrical network and fire alarm system, the installation of the above exhibition spaces with air conditioning, as well as the renewed interior spaces and service rooms will create modern, dignified conditions in the future for the organization of local historical and temporary exhibitions and creative meetings.
According to the plans, a representative exhibition will be opened in the renovated building for the first time from the collection of the project partner Dunaszerdahelyi Kortárs Magyar Galéria, which will select the works of living and creative artists on both sides of the Danube. After that, those interested can view the exhibition presenting the works of Lili Ország, born a hundred years ago, the material of which will be compiled from the Vasilescu collection managed by the Rómer Museum. His work, which began in the 1950s and spanned nearly three decades, is one of the defining works of modern Hungarian painting, the full cross-section of which is provided by the works presented. October - During November, the exhibition of the Győr County Autumn Exhibition will be open to the building. The exhibition, organized year after year, provides a comprehensive picture of the contemporary art of Győr and its wider region through the large number of received entries.
