The next regional methodological professional day organized by the Hungarian Ethnographic Society is now taking place in the city of Győr, at the Rómer Flóris Art and History Museum, within the framework of the partnership between the two institutions that has existed since 2020.

The Ethnographic Collector Department of the Hungarian Ethnographic Society has organized a series of professional conferences, the third stop of which is at the Rómer Flóris Art and History Museum, after further training in Siófok and Budapest. As part of the Tradition Professional Days 2024-2025, the organizers pay special attention to the community building and continuous training of ethnographic collectors. During the meetings, the participants have the opportunity to exchange ideas and consultations, as well as receive professional and methodological direct support during the programs. By viewing the ethnographic collections and exhibitions of museums and local history collections, they can gain an insight into the process of building art and handling artefacts in museum institutions; they can learn about the professional challenges of ethnographic museology, methodological innovations; they can get closer to the ethnographic heritage of each region. The presentations draw attention to the ever-current ethnographic research topics and regional characteristics. By getting to know the new topics and new approaches, both the tradition applicants and those interested in ethnographic collection can gain inspiration to examine the topics they examine from as many aspects as possible.

The current events of the Regional Methodological Professional Day, which will be held on June 6, 2025: the role of objects related to a custom, a deeper examination of contemporary material milieu; individual and small community life strategies for the decades of socialism in Hungary.

In the morning session, the participants can learn about the craft industry, sacred ethnography, and farming of Kisalföld and Csallóköz, as well as the 20th century history of the ethnographic collection that crosses national borders. The presentations are frontal, but interactive, as we consider dialogue and professional exchange of ideas between professionals and collectors important, and there is also a way to make direct comments during the discussion.

As part of the afternoon consultations, the participants can view the tableau exhibition of two ethnographic collectors, in connection with this they have the opportunity to learn about the individual collector's attitude and those interested can find out and share their experiences with each other about their methods.

In the last third of the day, the participants can see the tile stove history exhibition at the Fruhmann House and the Imre Patkó permanent exhibition at the Vastuskós Ház under professional guidance.
