Walking among the ancient buildings of the former Szent Erzsébet utca in the stone-framed doorways, at the corners of the alleys and behind the windows of the closed balconies, the former citizens of Győr greet us everywhere. At the beginning of the street, Ferenc Kreszta, the spice merchant known for his generous donations, leaves his shop and raises his hat on us. There, Antal Richter, the conductor of the cathedral, looks out through the decorative window of the chapter house of the musicians, next to him is his son János, born in this house, who will become world famous abroad. A corner away, the city judge, János Fejérvári, steps out with the family coat of arms of his house built in Renaissance style. At the corner of Vörösmarty utca, Haberle Farkas and Cecília Wagner, the pious couple who founded a shelter for German citizens, greet us. And in the church of the Orsolyits, through the incense smoke, the strict figure of the boss Lady Mary Alexia is revealed in addition to getting to know this wonderful St. Anne's church, we also visit the St. Orsolya monastery! Join us and get to know the former city and its inhabitants!
