In China, the so-called rubbing technique was used to preserve and study the stone reliefs decorating the walls of ancient tombs, as well as to reproduce and pass on engravings made from famous paintings, calligraphies, and even entire books. The process required extremely thin and flexible paper—a special material that China was able to produce even in ancient times thanks to its unique paper production technology in the world. We will present this technology in our session, and of course it will be possible to make your own bastards, and then you will also have the opportunity to explore the exhibition individually.
