The painter Ildikó Kovács received the jury's prize at the Győr County Autumn Exhibition held in 2025, within the framework of which he won the opportunity to have his own exhibition at the Rómer Museum.
sz Ildikó Kovács was born in Nyíregyháza, after obtaining his teaching degree, he has been living and creating in Győr since 1981. He is a member of the National Association of Hungarian Artists, the Association of Hungarian Painters and the Association of Hungarian Artists and Industrial Artists.
In addition to his pedagogical work, since the 1980s he has been involved in the creation of geometric compositions, with which he is featured in both independent and group exhibitions.
In his clean, understated paintings, he researches the laws of the connection of geometric shapes. The subject of Ildikó Kovács's works is the image itself: the logic of the forms, the dynamic interaction of the lines, the color effects, the arrangements turning from the plane to the space, and its guesses. His pictures do not declare, but offer and do not close, but open. The movement of our real world in space and time is not the same. This is suggested by the layers, the transparency - it is always possible to have another plane behind it, another point of view. His works painted on acrylic canvas will be shown at the exhibition opening on the Miklós Borsos period (9021 Győr, Apor Vilmos süpök tere 2.) on June 13, 2026 at 5 p.m., every day except Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
