Honey is the oldest sweetener on humanity, and the history of gingerbread is almost as old as its use. The temporary exhibition of the Rómer Flóris Museum of Art and History, created in cooperation with the BTM Kiscelli Museum, introduces the visitor to the past of the puppet-skinning profession, which is closely intertwined with making beeswax candles, offering a glimpse into the small rural workshops, the gingerbread business of the Zechmeisters and the large-scale factory of a chief guild master from Pest, Imre Beliczay and his descendants.
