The Contemporary Hungarian Gallery operating in the Vermes villa in Dunaszerdahely is one of the defining institutions of Hungarian cultural life in the highlands. In addition to nationality, the non-profit gallery, which has artistic quality in mind, was founded in the early 1990s. The dynamically developing contemporary fine art collection, which now has more than 1,100 pieces, consists exclusively of the artists' donations and the works of artists who participate in the local artist colony every year. Through the 100 works of 98 artists, the exhibition gives a glimpse into the artistic world of the most defining and well-known creators of the recent and present, such as István Nádler, El Kazovsky, Albert Kováts, József Gaál, László Fehér, János Aknay or Róbert Almási from Csallóközi. The Contemporary Hungarian Gallery regularly produces thematic exhibitions from the uniquely rich painting, sculpture and graphic material throughout the Carpathian Basin. The present exhibition is related to the renovation of the Magyar Ispita in Győr and the Vermes-Villa Interreg tender in Dunaszerdahely.
