Presentation of the Győr Museum Friends Circle
The association, which operates mostly with the payment of membership fees and grant funding, and has an independent budget, has implemented a number of memorable cultural programs during its 16 years of existence. These included co-arts (musical, literary) events, downtown walks presenting the architectural history memories of Győr, trips organized to introduce famous exhibitions of foreign and domestic museums and the architectural values of historical cities, artists organized with contemporary visual artists - audience meetings, discussions related to art collection and many, many more art-disseminating performances.
In December, we end the year with a traditionally cozy Advent gathering. In March of each year, we hold a general meeting where the management reports on the previous year's activities, and then we decide on the work plan for the current year, the series of events and excursions.
The number of members has increased gratifyingly over the years as a result of the attractive programs. It was highest in the 10th year of its establishment (146 people), which has been around 80 people in the last 5 years. Any citizen who has reached the age of 16, who accepts the circle's statutes and fulfills his obligation to pay the membership fee, can be a member of the circle of friends.
The annual membership fee for pensioners and students is HUF 3,000, and HUF 5,000 for active earners. The renewal of the membership and the payment of the membership fee will take place in the months of February and March at the Esterházy Palace (Király u. 17, Győr). Tel.: 96/322-695. Those interested can get information about this at the museum's reception.
