The little book you're holding is a playful dialogue about painting. Why dialogue and why it is playful has its own story.
My son Gabi barely grew into preschool age when he discovered a fine art album on the bookshelf with lots and lots of colorful pictures. A flood of questions poured over me: why is this uncle lying so strangely in this picture, why is it so dark here, what are these colored cubes, etc., etc. The many questions and answers over time - while Gabi was already well into her during her school years - and here and there, with some imagination-born, was put together into an article that addresses the most important questions of painting.
While the conversation between me and Gabi was going on, I had to make sure that what I was saying was understandable to him. How we tried to solve this difficult task together would be long to tell and describe in a few lines. The bottom line is that during the liberated, cheerful „game”, I was once again convinced that it is possible to talk about important and scientific issues simply and clearly.
In the end, just one more comment: guided by the intention to give a more comprehensive picture of painting, I added some parts to this truly playful dialogue that already belong to the „everyday” of recognizing true artistic values.
