2026 June 12. 16:30 - 17:30

Participation fee:

HUF 1000

At the meeting point, in front of the entrance to the Rába Hotel, we will see the famous work of sculptor Miklós Borsos, "Cudging Forms" set up in 1978. During our walk, we will visit the courtyard of the renovated Hungarian Ispita, seeing the phoenix statue made of Russian marble, which has been there since 1962, and the bronze bust of Rómer Flóris on the north-east corner of Széchenyi Square. Our downtown walk ends at the Miklós Borsos memorial plaque on the wall of the house at 11 Bécsi kapu tér, which marks the artist's last home in Győr. In the meantime, Borsos' years in Győr, the vicissitudes of the beginning of his career, the first successes, as well as the general artistic recognition indicated by public sculptures, are discussed.
The walk is led by: Dr. Emese Pápai, chief museologist and art historian
