The secret service documents of the party-state period gradually became available in recent decades. While getting to know the contents of the various files caused public scandals from time to time, the processing of the documents brought significant scientific results.
The interactive presentation reviews the development of historical images related to state security. In connection with the presentation of the (document) legacy of the political police, it is also discussed how all this can change as a consequence of this year's „opening of files” (October 22).
