Ákos Sebestyén is a committed supporter of abstraction in painting.
During his university years and in the early 2000s, he took lines of line gestures. Their central motifs were concentric circles and spirals. His works at this time were characterized by the restrained, monochrome use of color.
In the mid-2010s, as a result of a radical change, his attention turned more and more towards bright colors. His painting work method has also changed. The previous fast and energetic lines were replaced by the color fields created slowly, continuously, with pointylist techniques.
In recent years, gestures have once again played an important role in his painting. In many cases, bright colors appear in geometric (square, rectangle) shapes. His painting was greatly influenced by the work of Henri Matisse. At the chamber exhibition related to the event, those interested can see paintings made in recent years.
From the beginning of the 2000s, Ákos Sebestyén played in various musical formations (Manifest band, Alabanda band) as a bassist.
In the last 10 years, he started writing songs and writing lyrics. In the last two years, his attention has turned to Hungarian lira. He set the poems of János Pilinszky, Jenő Dsida, Árpád Tóth, and Dezső Kosztolányi to music.
He founded the Napilinszky Orchestra at the beginning of 2025. In this formation, Ákos Sebestyén sings, plays the guitar and plays the bass guitar. Other members of the band: Balázs Molnár (guitar) and Bálint Sebestyén (drums). At the event, the artist will perform his poems and his own songs with the participation of Balázs Molnár.
